86 percent of the cohort achieved 5 or more GCE O-Level passes. In the Express stream, 14 subjects scored above national average, while in the Normal stream, 8 subjects were higher than or the same as national average. In addition, we achieved a record high in our percentage passes in English Language at two percentage points higher than the national average of 93 percent. Our top pupil, S R E Poongodai, scored eight distinctions and is currently studying at National Junior College.

Our Tamil pupils took part in Victoria-Cedar Alliance (VCA) All Arts Competition - Sigaram 2012. The competition encouraged participant to embrace the Tamil culture through song, dance, drama and film-making.  Our Infocomm Club clinched Gold for the School Digital Media Award 2012 (SDMA 2012)!
The Infocomm Club members (Deborah Yeo Wei Yi - 4C, Ng Sing Yee - 4A, Tay Qin Wen Alvin - 4C, Sean Poh Fu Xiang - 4C, & Toh Wei Xiang Wilson - 4B) worked together in teams last year to produce their very own short film. In line with the theme 'Hear me out', our production, titled 'Unwanted', is a touching story of a girl who was neglected by her parents.

HKSS Bowler, Muhd Miki Goh clinched the 8th position in the Masters Final Bowling Tournament 2012
Congratulations to Miki (4T1) for clinching the 8th position in the 19th National Schools B-Division Boys Masters Final Bowling Tournament. We are proud of the sheer grit displayed by him in beating 174 bowlers to Masters Final.

Our Infocomm Club is awarded the National Infocomm Club Outstanding Schools Award. This award is given to schools with outstanding accomplishments in their Infocomm Club and to recognise the schools for their efforts in enhancing infocomm learning through infocomm clubs.

HONG KAH SEC EMERGED CHAMPIONS OF MHA FUTSAL CHALLENGE 2012
On 25 Feb, our boys took part in the national rounds of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) Futsal Challenge and overcame strong competition from eight other schools to emerge Champions for the second consecutive year. Led by Captains Md Khidir and Suhairi Sabri, the team did well to win all its games and beat Bedok South Secondary School 3-1 in the finals.

Our Hong Kah Soccer Stars Making Their Mark in the 2010 Youth Olympics Games 
Three of our Soccer ‘B’ Division were selected to represent Singapore in the world’s first Youth Olympics Games. They are Ammirul Emmran Bin Mazlan, Muhammad Firdaus Bin Mohd Sham and Hamzah Fazil.
We are immensely proud that our pupils shone as disciplined sportsmen when they fought bravely alongside the other cubs in the U-15 boys’ football team to put Singapore football on the world map.

 Mrs Yvonne Cheen received “The Inspiring Teacher of English Award”on the 22nd of October 2009.
The Award was started to acknowledge teachers who have been instrumental in igniting a love for the English language in their students and are effective in helping their students speak and write better. The Award also sets out to have teachers share their teaching practices with their fellow teachers.
Mrs Yvonne Cheen attributes her success to 3 Ps which stand for Passion, Pupils and Pedagogies.
